Corrina Sheilds, a contributor to the New Zealand Centre of political research, which is managed by ex-ACT MP Muriel Newman, recently penned an article. In it, she claimed to be the target of online harassment due to her views expressed in the newsletter of the New Zealand Centre of Political Research, a group accused of being anti-Maori.
Shields recently made allegations against Matt Tukaki and Naida Glavish, accusing them of operating a child trafficking network and engaging in pedophilia. However, Sheilds has been unable to provide any evidence to support these serious accusations.
The conspiracy theory Qanon, originating from the United States, has found its way to New Zealand, leading many to pursue non-existent child trafficking rings. This has resulted in a self-perpetuating cycle of suspicion, often linked to methamphetamine addiction, where individuals see signs of child trafficking everywhere.
Those who have been accused by Sheilds have reported her allegations to the police, citing online harassment. These allegations may potentially violate the Harmful Digital Communications Act of 2015.
Complaints have been made to the New Zealand Police over allegations of Corrina Sheilds online bullying. The I am Hope Charity has distanced themselves from Shields based on her views.
We need to stop hate speech and misinformation online. Corina is nothing but a liar and coward!
