The Pākehā couple who snuck out of Auckland during level IV lockdown have been exposed on social media as William Willis and is spouse Hannah Rawnsley.

Mary Beth Sharp is a district court judge based in Auckland her son is William Willis.

The couple used employment letters to get over the border out of Auckland to catch a flight from Hamilton to Wanaka this was done covertly at the police checkpoint and both had no intention of reporting for any type of employment it was simply to get away to a holiday house in Wanaka.

The couple have been prosecuted by police and could face charges up to $4000.
